Partick Thistle 0 Carlisle 0(Friendly)
SFA supremo Gordon Smith watched his son Grant help Carlisle grind out a dismal draw with Partick. The former Livingston and Dundee United midfielder is now turning out forUnited but his return to Scotland was far from memorable. Smith failed to liven up the game by getting on the scoresheet but no player dazzled in this boring stalemate.
Kendal Town 0 Carlisle 4(Friendly)

Two second half goals from Carlisle’s Scott Dobie and a goal each from Danny Carlton and Luke Joyce was enough to consign Kendal Town to their first defeat of the season.
Workington 3 v 1 Carlisle United(Friendly)
Sure there was youth team players, sure it was arranged late, but the lack of motivation from United was once again evident for all to see this evening in West Cumbria. To their credit, Workington played some neat football, much better than Carlisle could offer or respond to and deserved this victory.
Morcambe 2 Carlisle 1(Friendly)
A David Artell strike and a bizarre own goal from Livesey ensured a win for the shrimps despite a late goal from Danny Carlton. Bridge-Wilkinson hit the bar with a free kick in the dying seconds
Carlisle 2 Preston NE 2(Friendly)                                                                                         Preston North End continued their pre-season preperations with another good work-out in a 2-2 draw at Carlisle's Brunton Park.Goals either side of half-time from Neil Mellor and Simon Whaley looked to have grabbed a win for Alan Irvine's men but Scott Dobie levelled matters after he had put the Cumbrian side in front with a powerful header early in the match.
Carlisle United 1-2 Middlesbrough(Friendly)
The Boro picked up their first win of the pre-season campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 win against Carlisle United at Brunton Park. After draws with York and Celtic and a defeat against Vitoria Guimaraes, Middlesbrough picked up their first win of pre-season with a 2-1 victory over the League One side. The visitors took the lead just after half-time thanks to a neat finish from Jeremie Aliadiere - but Carlisle equalised through Danny Carlton. Didier Digard netted the winner for boro.
Bristol Rovers 2-3 Carlisle.
Danny Carlton scored twice as Carlisle United came from a goal down to beat Bristol Rovers. Rovers struck first when Rickie Lambert netted with a 15th-minute header from Craig Disley's cross. But Carlton equalised, deftly nodding home a Marc Bridge-Wilkinson cross and Bridge-Wilkinson put Carlisle ahead with a sweet 18-yard strike. Carlton's clinical shot wrapped up the points before Andy Williams' last-gasp breakaway goal made it 3-2.
Shrewsbury 0-1 Carlisle(Carling Cup)
A Peter Murphy free-kick was enough to put Carlisle into the second round of the Carling Cup after a hard-fought win over Shrewsbury. Murphy struck from the left-hand corner of the penalty area after 41 minutes to secure the win. United were forced to defend for long spells with the Shrews enjoying the better of the second half. Keeper Ben Williams was at full stretch to keep out a shot from Ben Davies, who also hit the bar with 10 minutes left.
Carlisle 4-2 Crewe
Danny Graham struck twice as Carlisle defeated Crewe at Brunton Park. Graham volleyed home from six yards after Scott Dobie crossed from the right and then headed home an accurate cross from Simon Hackney. Chris McCready pulled a goal back from close range after a flick-on from Julien Baudet, who later his the bar. Dobie struck from six yards and Hackney finished after a Michael Bridges through ball before Tom Pope headed home a late consolation goal.
L. Orient 0 Carlisle 0

Ten-man Carlisle produced a resilient display to keep out Leyton Orient in an entertaining clash at Brisbane Road. The home side enjoyed the greater possession, particularly in the second half, but were unable to find the creativity and killer punch. Visiting keeper Ben Williams made fine saves from Simon Dawkins and Adam Boyd to ensure the scores remained level. And Scott Dobie was sent off for violent conduct following an off-the-ball incident with Orient's Brian Saah. Naughty boy! Manager Ward continues to start with the very talented Bridges on the bench.
QPR 4 Carlisle 0(Carling Cup)
Carlisle stood firm in the first-half and it was goalless at the break. The home side took the lead after 48 minutes when  Stewart headed firmly in from a Ledesma corner.  Ledesma then met a Gavin Mahon ball, darted into the area and produced a neat finish for QPR's second. Ledesma collected  Di Carmine's pass and fired in before slotting in late on for his third. The first half had been a different story with Bridges and Hackney testing Rangers goalkeeper Cerny with long-range efforts. Bridges also headed a good chance wide.
Carlisle 4 Yeovil 1
Danny Graham's hat-trick gave Carlisle a fine victory over Yeovil in a contest between the two teams boasting previously unbeaten records. Yeovil led after Gavin Tomlin's strike, but Graham grabbed his first just before the interval and put Carlisle ahead after pouncing on a loose ball. Graham coolly added his third from the penalty spot after 69 minutes. Gary Madine rounded it off with his first league goal, sliding home from Cleveland Taylor's accurate cross.
Carlisle 2 Southend 1
An impressive second-half fight back from Carlisle helped maintain their unbeaten league record with a 2-1 home win over Southend. Debutant Dougie Freedman put Southend ahead with a classy 24th minute strike. But Carlisle put a poor first-half display behind them to finish strongly with a Danny Graham penalty and a match-winner from winger Cleveland Taylor. Southend had the better of a stop-start opening period and Freedman's goal was a rare moment of skill. He curled a superb 20-yard left-foot shot just inside keeper Ben Williams' right-hand post. But Carlisle levelled with a penalty after 62 minutes when Graham sent keeper Mildenhall the wrong way from the spot to score his sixth goal of the season.
Carlisle grabbed the winner after 77 minutes when substitute Bridges played Simon Hackney in and although Graham overran the winger's cross Taylor was on hand to bang home the loose ball from six yards.
Scunthorpe 2 Carlisle 1
Carlisle were made to suffer after missing several goal scoring chances in the first half of a fast and generally entertaining match. Alas, it was more entertaining for the Scunthorpe fans. Danny Carleton missed two easy chances early on, and Cleveland Taylor blasted into the side netting when he should have done better. Scunthorpe's inspired substitutions in the second half were Carlisle's undoing. Subs, Sparrow and Woolford both netted for the Iron before Danny Carleton's 77th minute consolation goal. Scott Dobie came on from the bench to assist Carleton with the aforementioned goal. Although it is disappointing to lose for the first time this season, it is not all that surprising. Despite the favourable score lines, Carlisle have not yet looked totally convincing against some very average looking sides. The manager, John Ward appears intent on starting Bridge-Wilkinson and Taylor whatever happens. And this, despite some distinctly underwhelming performances from both players. A Scunthorpe supporter posted this comment on the Cumberland News website: "Good to see Cleveland performs for you as he did for us, sublime and ridiculous in the same match. He's better coming on from the bench at 60 minutes plus. Good luck."  I would agree partly with this but it would appear that he (Taylor) is keeping the sublime bit under wraps for the moment.
Carlisle 0 Leeds 2

Luciano Becchio and Jermaine Beckford ended Carlisle's 100% home record. Becchio scored the first, a scrappy affair, when Neil Kilkenny's corner flew across the face of goal and was poked back into the danger area by Paul Telfer. Perhaps Carlisle keeper Williams should have dealt with the corner a bit better. Cleveland Taylor should have equalised when a good cross from the left by Horwood landed perfectly for him to head in, but his header was high wide and not very handsome.Frazer Richardson rattled the Carlisle crossbar with a superb 25-yard effort in the 80th minute. Much to the relief of Ben Williams, who appeared to leave it for wide. And Beckford sealed Leeds' win when substitute Robert Snodgrass found space on the left flank, after Bridge-Wilkinson was way too easily dispossessed, and crossed for the striker to score from six yards out.All in all this was a very disappointing result for the, bigger than normal, United crowd. John Ward needs to have a rethink about his team selection. When Dobie and Bridges came on from the bench, Carlisle looked much more threatening. Cleveland Taylor again was poor. As was Bridge-Wilkinson.Best performances came from Hackney and Horwood. One encouraging sign was, when new boy, Myrie Williams, was introduced late on and showed some good touches down the right wing.

WALSALL (1)2 CARLISLE UNITED (0)1
Goalscorers: Mattis and Ibehre for Walsall. Bridge-Wilkinson( pen) for Carlisle

Clayton Ince’s first half penalty save from Danny Graham inspired Walsall to a third successive victory after they beat Carlisle United 2-1. Dwayne Mattis and Jabo Ibehre put Saddlers 2-0 up but Marc Bridge-Wilkinson pulled one back for the visitors with a late penalty. United had started well but faded badly after the spot kick miss. Walsall continued to be the better side in the second half, although both teams played their part in a pulsating match.
