Daniel Anthony
William "Danny" Graham (born 12 August 1985 in
Gateshead, England) is an English footballer, who plays
for Carlisle United. He was brought up in Leam Lane in
Gateshead and went to Heworth Grange Comprehensive
School.[citation needed]
He was initially at Chester-le-Street Town, in the
Northern Premier League, before joining Middlesbrough in
2003.
Towards the end of the season he scored 21 goals in 20
games for the Under-19s side, and got his first action
in March 2003. Darlington, then his team, were told they
could only take him on loan from October 2004 onwards,
so instead he moved to Middlesbrough, where he was a
substitute in all eleven games he played.
He played for Derby County on loan between November 2005
and February 2006, he failed to score a single goal in
his time at Pride Park. Nevertheless, he was constantly
supported by the fans at Pride Park due to his
hard-working nature. He is a former England Under-20
international with an eye for goal. Unfortunately, Danny
has had a tough time in recent years, failing to impress
at any of the clubs he has been loaned out to. In July
2006, Middlesbrough confirmed they were willing to let
the once-hot prospect leave the club.
Graham made a loan move to Carlisle United until early
February 2007.Graham returned to Middlesbrough on
February 5, 2007, with his loan spell limited to two
games due to a leg injury. Graham returned to the Brunton Park club after he recovered from injury to
complete his three-month loan spell. He returned to
Middlesbrough after Carlisle's match versus Bristol
City, where he scored Carlisle's only goal in the 3–1
defeat. While at the Cumbrians, on loan from
Middlesbrough he scored seven league goals in 11 games.
Graham was released by Middlesbrough on 10 May 2007. He
was then signed by Carlisle United on a two-year deal on
6 June 2007.
Unfortunately, Graham did not quite have the same
scoring rate since signing to Carlisle, as he did to
when he was on loan at the club. Graham had a goal
drought from 13 October 2007 until 2 February 2008,
which diminished his chances of being League One's Top
Goalscorer 2007–08 greatly, which he had led from August
until October.
He made his 100th career appearance playing for Carlisle
United against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on 3
March 2008, scoring the winning goal in a 1–0 victory,
